Shreya Chappidi
PhD student in Computer Science
Welcome! I am a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge and the National Institutes of Health through the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program. My research sits at the intersection of human-computer interaction, responsible AI, and clinical medicine. I am jointly supervised by Dr. Andra Krauze and Prof. Jat Singh.
My research focus areas include:
Sociotechnical system design for human-AI decision making, including projects investigating
- workflow ordering [FAccT ‘22 paper]
- complementarity [TOCHI ‘23 paper]
- role assignment [CHI ‘26 paper]
Influences of data curation practices and documentation on algorithm development lifecycle, including
- Accountability capture from record-keeping requirements for algorithmic accountability [AIES ‘23 paper]
- How data modality and ground truth methodlogies may interact to influence algorithmic evaluation [PLOS Digital Health paper]
- Structured documentation frameworks to support reviewability for LLM-supported data curation [CHI ‘26 workshop paper - forthcoming]
AI abandonment, or why organizations choose to stop developing or not develop AI systems. (forthcoming)
